How to Build an Exit-Intent Pop-Up in GoHighLevel Funnels

Updated April 11, 2025

Visitors leaving your funnel without converting represents lost revenue that an exit-intent pop-up can directly recover. Follow this guide to build, configure, and publish a GoHighLevel exit-intent pop-up that captures leads and reduces bounce rates.

An exit-intent pop-up is a type of message or form that shows up just as a visitor is about to navigate away from a webpage. It works by tracking cursor movement toward the browser’s close button or another tab, prompting a pop-up with an offer, sign-up form, or call to action.

Exit-intent pop-ups are a powerful way to:

  • Reduce bounce rates
  • Capture leads before they leave
  • Offer last-minute deals or incentives
  • Improve conversion rates

With HighLevel, you can create an exit-intent pop-up to increase engagement and keep potential leads from slipping away.

Step 1: Create a Contact Form (or use a template)

Step 2: Add the Form to a Pop-Up

Go to the Funnel or Website Builder

Access the appropriate client account (also referred to as a sub-account), then head to Sites and choose either Funnels or Websites.

Next, pick the specific funnel or webpage where you’d like the exit-intent pop-up to appear.

Open the funnel or website editor.

Click on Pop-ups (from the top menu).

Click + New Pop-up, give it a name, and start designing.

Add Your Form to the Pop-Up

Drag a Form element into the pop-up.

Select the form you created earlier.

Customize the pop-up design to match your branding.
