How to Enable Your Landline Number for SMS in GoHighLevel

Updated February 11, 2025

Many agencies lose leads because their clients' landline numbers can't send or receive text messages through GoHighLevel. This tutorial walks you through enabling Hosted SMS on a voice-enabled number, covering eligibility requirements, ownership verification, and submitting your Letter of Authority for LC Phone locations.

What is Hosted SMS?

Hosted SMS enables you to send and receive text messages on voice-enabled numbers you currently use with a different carrier. It has no impact on your voice services. We simply register the number for SMS, allowing messages to be routed to and from the platform.

What numbers can I host on Twilio for SMS?

Hosted SMS is currently available in Beta for the US and Canada. Mobile numbers are not supported at this time. VoIP numbers from select providers will be supported in the future. Additionally, numbers already associated with a Twilio account for voice services cannot be transferred to another Twilio account for SMS usage.

How can I host my number for LC phone locations?

The end-user will be required to complete ownership verification and provide an LoA (Letter of Authority) signature after submitting the following information.

1. Location ID:
